GET FIT WITHOUT ANYONE REALISING IT!
Yes, we’ve all heard it a thousand times, but why not do it? Take the stairs up to work in the morning and your colleagues may notice you’re panting for the first couple of weeks, but after that it becomes easier, the panting will stop and your thighs and legs will look so much better.
This one is great while watching the TV – and it really firms your bottom! Put a cushion between your knees, keeping your feet on the floor and hips square. Squeeze and clench without letting the cushion fall. Repeat. Magic!
Lunges are a miracle-worker – they work your bum, hips and thighs. Stand with your legs together and then put your left leg forward and bend your right knee until it is almost touching the floor. Land with your heel first and then bring the front of your foot down. You can do these instead of walking along a corridor – just make sure there’s no-one around to see you!
Your abs can be strengthened when sitting in your chair. Sit with your feet on the floor and your back straight and tummy muscles straight. Lift your right foot off the floor so your thigh lifts off the chair and your stomach muscles tighten. Repeat with the left leg. Repeat.
The key to keeping healthy is not sitting in one position for too long. If you work in an office, never sit in the same position for longer than 40 minutes. As often as possible, get up, stretch and walk around. Sometimes making a cup of tea for your colleagues is the healthiest thing you can do – well at least it’ll make you popular!
